39 Squares or 49 squares

This is an enjoyable project one that my sister Mel encouraged me to do.  I haven't done a lot of embroidery so struggling through it, not sure that I will make the aim of 49 squares (7 x 7 one inch squares).  Check out this lovely blog -- I think this is where the idea originated?  39 Squares 

  

Making a skirt for Bonnie

My new overlocker arrived :)  so what a better way than to spend a Sunday arvo.. than trying it out on a skirt for Bonnie Bear..  mm not a very cooperative photo on Sunday evening!   Little Miss wore it all afternoon over her jeans..

Sewing Patchwork Cushions & Quilt on Sunday

The weather was shocking (AGAIN!) so decided to get out the precut squares that I bought from a cute craft/secondhand shop in Triabunna on the East Coast of Tasmania in April..  The first are cushion covers, basic, but brighten up the sofa bed.   The next is a mini quilt that I am making for Kama - I have to decide which colour to back it with, I am guessing Kama will choose green.

Patchwork Squares

During Easter I discovered these wonderful patchwork pre-cut squares in a lovely little craft shop in Triabunna. 

 

For Oscar

Well laziness aside I felt like doing a little bit of sewing over the weekend, so I sewed up this cute little rubbish bin for Oscar's room.. the trouble is when you do something for one grand child one has to think up something for the others..  mmm thinking cap on, anyone got some ideas for 3 little girls?

Cross-stitch Christmas Tree

I finished this little cross-stitch.. the tree is so cute...  It only takes about 1.5 hours to complete - probably less if your an experienced cross-stitcher.

Vintage Look Fabric

I bought these lovely fabrics in Spotlight last week.  There are a lot of light blue shades in my house and how I am now wishing they were pinks.. but I figure I can fit in some pink too : ) 

Learning to Sew

Georgia slept over in the weekend and was keen to learn to sew, so we did a bit of easy stitching on felt.  She ended up making a little square for herself and her sister Izzy.  After the stitching was done Missy decided to jazz it up with some star stickers out of the craft box.

Felt Wall Hanging

These are two designs for Georgia and Izzy's rooms.  I still need to frame them.  They are really cute.  Problem is Miss Georgia can't decide which one she should have! She fancies both of them!
