Sewing a simple quilt

A while since I tackled a quilt.. eek.. so I started with this simple to do quilt for Kama, its small to cover her legs while watching television of a night, certainly some cold nights about at the moment in Tassie.  The fabric squares are pre-cut from Moda, purchased a few years ago on the East Coast at a cute little shop in Triabunna.  A great way for someone to get back into sewing, or beginners sewing.  I have 2 more packs to make up, stay tuned.  I also made some into a couple of cushion covers a year or so ago, they were also easy to sew up.

 
 

Sewing a Writing Compendium

This year I am trying to make at least one gift for friends..  as a not frequent sewing person, I tacked this writing compendium... a few mistakes but all good as the next one I make will be improved on. 

 
 

Hexagon Sewing Along

Well my little sister has inspired me again, Mel.. I really have to finish off some projects before starting any more!   Check out each Wednesday the hexagon progress on One Crafty Mumma's Blog.  Mine is going to be a small hexagon table centre, as I just know if I plan anything too big it will never develop.

 

Library Bags

Art Smock Sewn in an Hour

Bonnie's off to school soon, so an artsmock is needed.  How cute is pink and white stripes, with polka dot pocket.

 

Heather Bailey Pear and Apple Collection Growing....

This evening I whipped up a pear and an apple.. the collection for the table is growing!

 
 
 

An apple a day......

I received some lovely xmas fabrics in the mail, one of the chosen ones was the red floral that I used to make this gorgeous apple.   I've had my eye on this terrific Heather Bailey pattern for ages.. easy to make project :)  The pear is next.... I hope to make up a little bowl full to display on the coffee table during Christmas decoration period :)

 
 

Sewing on Sunday

Super easy to sew.. I left off the trim and pockets, a trial of buttonholes went well, but the real thing didn't so its back to practicing!

Patchwork Projects

Another post for Mel ...  all these gorgeous projects, what a beautiful book, of course the lovely fabrics used compliment all the project work.. one disadvantage when you live in the country without fabric shops!
