I purchased a pre-paid wireless broadband plug this week. I believe I can claim some of the cost back being a Telstra customer which will be a bonus after the problems encountered!
Plugged in the pre-paid, worked lovely and fast.. then I kept getting a security certificate warning, couldn't send emails, couldn't get into hotmail... So I phone Telstra - got an animated voice, which was frustrating as it kept asking and trying to prompt you as to what the trouble was.. even said go get your account and then a damn whistling music played.. in the finish I let out some not very nice swear words at it! Hung up, phoned back, got the same, did some coughing when it spoke or stayed silent, finally transferred me to a real person.. who seemed more worried that he had a cold..after having to ask a number of times for him to repeat what he was saying, he reckoned I had a problem with internet security... so I thanked him, went and tried to turn everything off... nope same message. Fiddled around, same message. Phoned back today - got a female person, again I had to ask her to repeat what she was saying a number of times, she helped me reload my email account - at the end, no send/receive buttons, she ended up telling me to reload Outlook from disk... mmm I'm thinking, so I went back in.. the reload hadn't worked.. so I mucked around and finally fixed it myself! (relief that I don't have to call back again!)
To make matters worse.. my daughter informs me that when she purchased her Wireless Plug - she put $100 credit on it, the same as I did.. This week she still had $85 left, but 30 days kicked in so Telstra wiped the credit!! SO BEWARE... I didn't know this when I put the $100 on my stick.. came home looked on my docket... actually commented to the salesperson that $100 would last me quite a few months, I read at the bottom of the docket that if you havent used your amount of credit in 30 days it is wiped... SPEWING.. will never use that much. Go into the website and read up, yes correct.. if you actually recharge with the same amount before 30 DAYS expires you can maintain your full amount. i.e carry it forward. Well yep likely that I want $200 credit! mm I think the Telstra Ombudsman will be hearing from me!
