These are some newish necklaces that I've added to my collection... the purple, amber beads Kama bought for me on sale ($4) from Big W the other week, they look lovely with my mauve shirts..  the gold chain was a gift from my sister-in-law and children on my 50th birthday... I love purple or amethyst jewellery and the pendant took my eye and was bought for me by Tanya I think. 

The green beads I bought in Sydney with money mum gave me for my birthday, the gorgeous pearl and blue, pink necklace was handmade in Mt Tambourine, I bought it in the shopping centre in Broadbeach. The red hand made glass bead was made locally by an artisan who works in Geeveston, my sister gave me that one..and the green/blue hand made bead was also a gift from the same artisan by my mum.. The large green sterling silver one was a purchase I made when I was running my own shop.. 

AND LAST...  JUST had to show my latest purchase, again thanks to mum's birthday money... its ceramic beads which are maybe hand painted?   Diva store... the funny thing is that I had a vague recollection that I had seen it before?   I think Mel has one the same - Kama stared at it then said, mum Melissa has one the same I think...  sorry Mel.. it just means we have the same good taste lol  

For Oscar

Well laziness aside I felt like doing a little bit of sewing over the weekend, so I sewed up this cute little rubbish bin for Oscar's room.. the trouble is when you do something for one grand child one has to think up something for the others..  mmm thinking cap on, anyone got some ideas for 3 little girls?

OLD

I had a bit of a look around and found these bits and pieces - I probably have more old things around than new!   Its called hoarding stuff that may or may not ever get used again!

This is a favourite - consisting of a table runner, serviettes and placemats, it was given to me by my great auntie Joy and she told me she thought it was hand sewn by one of the members of her family.  It certainly looks like it was.  They border on a creamy peach colour.   I am going to hold onto it and maybe one day the museum may like to have it in their collection.

 

 

 

  Cups and saucers given to me for pre-wedding presents..and a little china log that was my Grandmas..I am a hoarder of old things.

  My prefect badge from high school, I was a warranted girl guide leader in 1975-76... junior red cross member - 2 different badges, so one may have been Kamas.

And below - a half penny, my first watch, the box that my friendship ring came in, the triangle necklace is a favourite, it was given to me by my grandfather when I was 10, I had chewed the thread link off it, so recently I had it repaired and my first grandchild (Georgia) will be given it at 10... the B I bought on my first trip away from Tasmania, I was a mad keen horse person and it is made from a horseshoe nail.  The two other bits, I just wanted to show that even if something is not the greatest for my taste, e.g. the blue pendant and the lucky charm I don't throw them out.. (my brother bought those when he first started work)
