Walking in the Forest

My new job is fantastic..and today I took a walk through the forest and joined in on a cave tour.  I couldn't resist practicing my camera skills (which need lots of improvement) on the way back down the track. So peaceful and everything shiny from yesterdays sleet and rainfalls.. lovely little pockets of sleet to be found amongst the ferns.

Cooking

I got up early this morning and did some cooking - made bread in the breadmaker, one egg meringues and cream puffs. I wanted to make the latter two to put away ready for Izzy's Christening which will be soon.  I also made some scones (easy peasy) because my friend Gina (www.gingerbread.typepad.com) came to spend the day with me (thankyou Gina : ) 

I'll add the recipes to my Recipe Blog later on.

Vintage Look Fabric

I bought these lovely fabrics in Spotlight last week.  There are a lot of light blue shades in my house and how I am now wishing they were pinks.. but I figure I can fit in some pink too : ) 

Lights Out

We had a power failure tonight.  It was about an hour until the power was restored.  I gathered up candles and we cooked tea on the portable gas cooker - lucky I made pumpkin soup in the weekend, as the casserole cooking in the electric oven wasn't quite done!

Crochet Squares

The squares are slowly increasing!  Mum laid them all out on the floor last time she was here - I am way too lazy!  We decided if  I just want it to be a smallish throw-over that I only have about 10 squares to go..so that was inspiring. 

New Stamps

My latest purchases, these great Hero Arts (www.heroarts.com) stamps.  The large ones are great to use and the acrylic ones just delightful.. a tincy blossom branch, bird, flower, tree, birdhouse, bird perch and house and the message says 'from our home to yours'.  I am new to stamping, but I used bronze stamp-pad ink and they looked fabulous in my trials.

Winter in Tasmania

It has been extremely cold here, temperatures plummeting overnight and waking to beautiful frosty mornings.  Generally bringing sunshine, we are lucky our house faces north, so we get the sun first up : )

You would have heard of "Footsteps in the Sand" these are "Footsteps in the Frost"!  The other photos were also taken this morning, the view from my front yard is not snow, its just a very heavy frost.
